Throughout history, the value of education has been universally well-recognized as a fundamental human right. Education not only opens doors of opportunity to a better living standard, it also broadens our views about world affairs and social norms around the world, helping us become more tolerant and law-abiding citizens. Illiteracy is not caused by a lack of intelligence; rather it is often a result of outside factors that can be addressed.
Indonesian Baitulmaal has been partnering with Yayasan Aksi Peduli Bangsa (Mentawai Islands, West Sumatra) and Yayasan Annaba Center in Indonesia to provide full/tuition-only scholarships, and other educational supports such as funding for the teachers in Mentawai.
Yayasan Aksi Peduli Bangsa provides full scholarships and educational supports as the following,
– Full scholarship for a student: $275/month or $3,300/year
– Educational supports: four (4) teachers ($250/month for a teacher), library and books ($7,150/year)
Our core mission is supporting Muallaf, one who recently embraced Islam, to build up their confidence towards Islam. Indonesian Baitulmaal is building partnership with organizations in the United States and Indonesia who focus their activities in educating and supporting Muallaf.
